Blogging Tip - WordPress Title Optimization

I've been setting up a lot of WordPress blogging sites over the past week or so.  Some are for me, some are for clients, etc.  But, in my goals to optimize them (boy is WordPress ever configurable!), I've noted that I need to change quite a few things to maximize the placement of these pages in the Search Engines.

So, here's something you might find handy if you're setting up a WordPress blog for yourself.  Maybe you already have one and just didn't know how to optimize this (You know who you are!) because you're as Stupid as George Bush.

Why Do I Use Long Domain Names?

Why should I use long domain names? My most recent article has brought up a couple of questions from readers, one of which I’ll answer right now.

The question is “Why are your domain names so long, with all those dashes in them? Should I be doing that as well?” (A domain name is the .com, .net, or .org part of a web site address – aka URL)

The “right” answer to this question depends significantly on how you intend to drive traffic to your site.

Another Marketing Experiment to Leverage - Buying Links to Your Site

So, I was researching keywords related to blogging, researching a number of products with AdWords ads.  In that area, I stumbled across THIS interesting little number...

Mark Joyner claims that he's a blogging moron, and that he'd like your help reviewing his multimedia course on blogging.  So here's his deal...

Hey Baby, What's Your PageRank -- and other bad pickup lines.

All of the recent discussion about the Google PageRank update has stimulated a few questions from my readers. Let me take a swipe at answering the questions that have come up, and a few others to fill in the gaps and get everyone up to speed.
  • What is PageRank?
  • How can I see my PageRank?
  • What is the impact of a higher PageRank?
  • What does a given ranking mean?
  • How do I use PageRank, then?

What NOT to do when Article Marketing

LOL! You have to read this! It's no secret... I'm a big fan of article marketing.  Ever since I learned how to turn this talent into cash for me and my clients, I've been singing its praises far and wide.

After years of running an article site using ASP that I wrote from scratch (my development language of choice as the time - as there weren't any on the market at the time), I decided to start running with one that had more of the features I was looking for already built in, rather than having to develop them all from scratch.

I've started dropping my old Type A habits and picking up some help here and there to get me through some of the stuff that doesn't require my specific attention.  With all of that said, my Editor brought this article to my attention.  I was flummoxed by how horrible it was.

Follow-up on Content Spooling Network - PageRank

Alrighty...  for those of you interesting in seeing how my examination of the Content Spooling Network has gone, and curious if you want to fork out the money for the product yourself -- you absolutely HAVE to see these results.

I have had a site promoted by CSN now for several months, starting on 10/9/07.  One article has been posted to 138 sites and another article has been posted to 103.  On January 11, 2008, Google updated its PageRank.

I registered my test site on 10/6/07 in order to test CSN.  That site is http://www.Free-Reprint-Articles.com and it has, now, a PageRank of 3.  In three months, this brand new site has gone from non-existant to a PageRank of 3.

Let's see how much Content Spooling Network has helped in this process shall we?

Boosting your Profits through Consumables

There’s a big trend in consumer products today that merits the attention of every business owner. Understanding how to leverage these principles can improve the profitability of nearly every business model.

I was recently working with a member of a local marketing group here in Tampa who is a website designer, let’s call him Fred (not his real name). I got out of the “web design” and “SEO” businesses because of the same things Fred was complaining about.

I shared a number of insights with him that you can probably use in your own business.  Then I thought about some other real world examples are sure to get your creative juices flowing about increasing your profitability.

Article Marketing - Reverse Marketing Tactic

I've just learned a very valuable marketing lesson from Tim Beachum, that I think merits some investigation and serious consideration.  Obviously, you'd need to comply with CAN-SPAM laws and so on, but the strategy seems solid.

TrafficRightNow Review

Kevin's MugshotI received a nice little piece of what I'll affectionately refer to as "e-mail" today with the title "Beta Test My Traffic System (Zero Cost)" from a man I don't recall having interacted with before who goes by the name of Tim Beachum.

I decided to do a little research on this guy and his product to get some idea of what this might be about, to learn about his marketing style.  I was surprised to learn what I found.  had no idea I would find such interesting dirt.
