Being a student of marketing, I check out nearly every sales letter that’s sent my way. I (personally) get a little bored after reading tens of pages of long copy sales letters, so I really like those that are short and sweet and just home right in on the finer points without tons of hype.

When I saw @SteveWeber‘s promo tweet on Twitter for his TwitterBlast product, I felt compelled to check it out. The sales page was simple, precise, and contained all the right elements for “good copywriting”. I was planning on simply using is as a reference piece for my readers to see an example of doing things correctly. Take a look at the sales letter page and go through the checklist here with me.

Remember that your "brand" should be consistent -- all of your messages you send to your audience need to align with one another, lest your audience become confused about who you are. Branding comes in the form of websites, logos, newspaper advertisements, phone book ads, coupons, mailers, etc.

List Building on Twitter - Gaining Followers

I'm on Twitter, now what?

So, now you're on Twitter... whaddya do now? How do you get people to start hanging on your every word?

It might take a while to get people to actually pay attention to you, but it won't take long to get a following. Remember, not all traffic is the same, and you don't just want 10,000 people blindly following you who have no interest in your message. Since I have a variety of interests, I have a varitety of followers. Following me are: software developers, software testers, project managers, development managers, copywriters, internet marketers, marketing and branding experts, and so on.

As a result, not every "tweet" (Twitter Message) is going to match my entire audience, except the personal ones like "Returning movies to Blockbuster" -- everyone can relate to that and see that I'm a real person.

In my last post, and in my excitement, I managed to inadequately explain the reasons why anyone would Twitter in the first place. Thanks, for those of you who brought this to my attention.

After a great deal of soul-searching, writer's block, and a few false starts on an article on the topic, it made a lot more sense for me to share this video with you instead.

Should you Twitter? Internet Marketing via Microblogs

Since I’ve been working so hard for clients for the past few months, it’s only been recently that I’ve had a chance to get in touch with the latest internet marketing trends. I’ve been continuing with previous successful actions, of course, most notably article marketing and lead generation sites.

In catching up with the world, a technology I had largely ignored showed me it has really grown up. This little tool is called Twitter.

Working long, long, hours in Orlando for the past 3 months or so, it wasn't until very recently, I even spent a moment (not asleep) at the hotel. When I did, I was studying, or programming, or something similarly productive.

Now, if you've been working with me on the marketing front for any length of time, you've noticed I constantly mention how the most effective marketing motivator (for adults) is sex. If you can find a way to squeeze sex into your marketing message, you'll suddenly find customers. To summarize, "sex sells".

Blogging Tip - WordPress Title Optimization

I've been setting up a lot of WordPress blogging sites over the past week or so. Some are for me, some are for clients, etc. But, in my goals to optimize them (boy is WordPress ever configurable!), I've noted that I need to change quite a few things to maximize the placement of these pages in the Search Engines.

So, here's something you might find handy if you're setting up a WordPress blog for yourself. Maybe you already have one and just didn't know how to optimize this (You know who you are!) because you're as Stupid as George Bush.

Why Do I Use Long Domain Names?

My most recent article has brought up a couple of questions from readers, one of which I’ll answer right now.

The question is “Why are your domain names so long, with all those dashes in them? Should I be doing that as well?” (A domain name is the .com, .net, or .org part of a web site address – aka URL)

The “right” answer to this question depends significantly on how you intend to drive traffic to your site.

Another Marketing Experiment to Leverage - Buying Links to Your Site

So, I was researching keywords related to blogging, researching a number of products with AdWords ads. In that area, I stumbled across THIS interesting little number...
